I primarily utilize a CBT approach while integrating mindfulness and other techniques to the work when appropriate. I am an active and collaborative therapist.
In the first few sessions, I will work on connecting with you and collaborating to generate a treatment plan that is tailored to you and your individual needs. Over the course of therapy, we will examine the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I will help you examine ways to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that are leading to feeling sad, anxious, etc. We will then work to learn and apply strategies to shift your thinking patterns and behaviors, noticing how when done correctly, can lead to profound emotional change. Therapy can be short term or long term; some clients come weekly for 3 to 6 months until symptoms decrease, while others remain in therapy for longer periods of time and set new goals.
